"Times Up" was formed in November 2006 in South Wales, United Kingdom with a view to record and perform the extensive song books of Geoff Smith and Andy Gibbon. Under the combined influences of Mike Hagland and Steve Leman the songs soon began to flourish and develop into the sound that's heard now. Each of the band members having over 20yrs. experience in "the business" there was a multitude of influences to call on. A collaboration with Ron Rogers (ex T'Pau frontman and songmeister) at his studios in Monmouth (contact Ron at www.upthelane.org.uk) has produced their debut album
"Storm Coming In". If you like classic rock with a hefty slice of prog then you will love this!!!! In the summer of 2009 the band was dragged kicking and screaming from the warmth of the studio to ply their wares, live, to the great unwashed. Having rattled the optics from TJ's in Newport to The Palladium Club in Devon, the band is collecting followers of all ages. The younger among them are amazed that a musical story can be told, loudly, tightly and imaginatively by anyone over 20 years old! "Ahh the innocence of youth!!!!!!" Autumn '09 & Spring '10 "Times Up" have returned to the studio to evolve and record their second album. One of the tracks from this album was picked up by "Classic Rock Presents Prog" magazine as is featured on the cover C.D. of their January 2010 issue. In May 2010 "Times Up" became a five with the arrival of the keyboard talents of David Hughes, adding his skills to the band and the new album. In July 2010 we sadly said farewell to Andy, a founder member of "Times Up". After much searching and head scratching along came Sed, a bass player of some accomplishment who has brought a new dimension to the band. Good Luck Sed, keep it up. |
